Version 1.12 of RASMAM is now available. RASMAM is a utility I wrote
to eliminate a large batch file and many utilities I had been using to
automate the management of my Opus message areas. RASMAM renumbers
message areas, purges or archives old messages, and creates lists of
messages waiting for users. RASMAM is controlled by a script file
which forms a simple language you use to tell RASMAM what to do.
Version 1.12 adds many new features including:
o More built-in macros
o LOCK and UNLOCK commands to disable and re-enable listing
messages waiting for specified users
o A SKIP option for the KILL and ARCHIVE commands that will prevent
the first "nn" messages in an area from being deleted
o An INCLUDE command
o IF/END IF statements to cause portions of the script to be
conditionally executed based on time, date, environment variables,
the existance of specified files, or values of user-defined macros
o Commands to erase or concatenate files
o "Picture Gallery" commands which automate the changing of files
each day (for example, you can have many logos stored in an archive
and use the Picture Gallery commands to retrieve a dofferent one
each day and put it in LOGO.BBS)
o A SHELL command which executes a DOS command then returns to RASMAM
Version 1.12 overcomes the problem earlier versions had with large
user lists. Version 1.12 will handle up to 2000 users.
When using the RENUM SUBJECT or RENUM CHAIN commands, version 1.12 is
much less likely to cross-link subjects.
Version 1.12 is also a little faster.
RASMAM 1.12 is available from the RSBBS as OMAM_112.ARC. The archive is
about 150K long.
/* RASMAM only runs on a PC compatible. I'm sorry ... I'm learning C as
quickly as I can! */
